about

'Introducing The Deep Six' is their debut album containing a monster 14 tracks in all.

The band was the brainchild of two long time friends and musical associates Mark McGounden (Makin Time/The Upper Fifth) and Martin Street who met as teenagers, and they always promised themselves that at some point they would put an album together that encapsulated the powerful influences of the 60's bands they loved growing up.

This collection is the fruition of that promise, both writing individually and in partnership they draw from various musical styles to reach their ambition.
Adding to the line-up on guitar is singer/songwriter Paul Hooper-Keeley from The Threads (who's songs feature here too), and 'man about Birmingham town' drummer Tony Barbados.

As a debut album its an impressive list of songs that shouldn't disappoint!

The Deep Six UK Winchester, UK

From the ashes from Makin Time comes Mark McGounden's recent outing into the world of pop songwriting.

Along with Neil Clitheroe, Niall Keohane and Ade Martin they manage to produce a variety of musical styles which are clearly drawn from the 60s, yet still manage to sound contemporary and original with tremendous vocal harmonies reminiscent of bands such as The Hollies or The Byrds.
